Today marks the launch of our MMeets event series, curated in collaboration with Office for Good Design. Help make a map of remarkable-but-underrated (and even secret) civic spaces with renowned illustrator James Gulliver Hancock. Hancock—famed for his attempt to draw every building in Manhattan—will guide the program and provide participants with drawing tips. Internet and biannual print journal Assemble Papers—local source of knowledge about all things urban and under-appreciated—will select the spaces into which the drawings will breathe new life. The final illustrations will be compiled to form a communally created guide. No drawing experience necessary.
