Emma Burrows

Emma Burrows leads a multidisciplinary research programme at The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health which aims to understand neurobiological mechanisms involved in autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Since completing her PhD in 2011, a key objective of Emma’s research has been to develop novel and innovative technologies for characterising preclinical animal models of ASD. Emma is an active member of the Florey and she has held a number of leadership positions on institute committees, including co-chair of the Equality in Science Committee. She is also a passionate and skilled communicator, as evidenced by her involvement in public outreach and by invitations to present her work, nationally and internationally.
