Over the last twenty-five years, the increased presence of fashion in museums across the world has generated debate about curatorial modes, as well as about how fashion is understood when presented in these modes. In this Tuesday’s MTalk, curator and fashion commentator Robyn Healy will discuss non-customary exhibition practices—those that don’t just display fashion via linear dress histories. Touching on numerous approaches, from historical imagination to design process, she’ll consider how different arrangements of clothes let audiences explore different ideas of fashion.
