This week ACMI is set to open the first ever Australian survey exhibition
of work by China’s pre-eminent moving image artist, Yang Fudong. In the lead-up—on Tuesday 2 December—we're excited to be co-presenting a discussion evening at MPavilion, exploring the artist's stylised use of architectural motifs.
Moderated by MPavilion senior curator Natalie King, the panel will include Li Ning (curator of the Academic & Research Department at the Shanghai Art Museum) and Claire Roberts (historian of Chinese art and senior lecturer of Art History at the University of Adelaide) in a discussion ranging from the exhibition itself to the proliferation and design agendas of new museums in China. Book your free spot here.
Yang Fudong: Filmscapes is being presented as part of ACMI’s special summer season China Up Close.
