Shelley Lasica is an Australian choreographer and dancer. Her practice is characterised by cross-disciplinary collaborations and an interest in how dance is presented in different contexts. She’s concerned with what dance means to people, how it functions and how it can be used to shape our experience of the world, and she’s explored themes such as the interaction between spoken, written and movement language; a loss of memory and senses; coincidence; and space. Shelley’s prolific career spans thirty years—among many others, she’s produced choreographic works and installations for Melbourne Festival, National Gallery of Victoria, Paris’s Centre Nationale de la Danse, London’s Siobhan Davies Studios, Dance Massive and Anna Schwartz Gallery.
