Countdown to launch

Monday 6 October 2014, 1.25pm

As Depeche Mode once said, "It's just a question of time / it's running out for you." Or, in other words, some MPavilion events have limited spots! Especially our MTalks calendar and the weird and wonderful MMeets series curated in collaboration with Office for Good Design. Click the RSVP links on your favourite dates while the going's good.

First up in MTalks: visiting Serpentine Galleries director Julia Peyton-Jones in conversation with Naomi Milgrom and Sean Godsell on 7 October, then a design-focussed discussion between Sean Godsell and Melbourne Festival creative director Josephine Ridge on 14 October.

MMeets kicks off in early November with a map-drawing workshop hosted by Assemble Papers and globe-trotting pen-wielder James Gulliver Hancock, a bike meet with local studio Lab De Stu and an early morning stroll with Slow Art Collective's Dylan Martorell.

In program news, we're excited to announce two new MPavilion offsite events presented by Robin Boyd Foundation. The five-day studio design studio Redefining QVM and the Edge of the City begins on 23 November, while the Victoria-wide open day Sean Godsell's Favourite Houses on 30 November invites you to explore some of our enduring suburban icons—from Roy Grounds's Toorak House and Flats (1953) to Peter McIntyre's Snelleman House in Ivanhoe and Robin Boyd's second family home in Walsh Street, South Yarra.

Last but not least, if you're up early tomorrow we'd love you to join us for our very first daily opening ceremonywhen the louvres open on Sean Godsell's inaugural MPavilion design. Coffee most definitely available.
