Gerard van Dyck

Gerard van Dyck’s dance career has spanned twenty years. His training and performance experience includes contemporary dance, acting, slapstick, puppetry and motion capture; his practice integrates storytelling and humour with movement and choreography. After graduating at the Victorian College of the Arts he co-founded KAGE with Kate Denborough in 1997, and together they have produced more than eighteen original, award-winning dance theatre works.

Gerard has toured extensively with BalletLab and Polyglot Theatre, and has worked locally with artists including Nat Cursio, Eleventh Hour Theatre, Legs on the Wall, desoxy Theatre and Sandra Parker. He has danced in a piano costume for Sarah Blasko and floated in a spaceship for David Noonan. When he isn’t busy with KAGE he works as a marriage celebrant, is a member of the dance panel of the Green Room Award Association, and is a regular guest on Triple R’s Smart Arts program.
